Method for pollution treatment of cast iron manhole cover

It is well known that cast iron well covers require reasonable maintenance during use, otherwise some corrosion is likely to occur. The following small series of HONG YUE FACTORY introduces you to the treatment of manhole cover pollution:

1. Cast iron manhole cover is intergranularly corroded: this material without titanium and niobium has a tendency to intergranular corrosion. The addition of titanium and niobium, together with a stable treatment, can reduce intergranular corrosion. A high alloy steel that resists corrosion in air or chemically corrosive media.

2. No solution treatment: the alloying elements are not dissolved in the matrix, resulting in low matrix alloy content and poor corrosion resistance. So pay attention to the protection measures in this regard.

3. The presence of chloride ions in the use environment of cast iron well covers: chloride ions are widely present, such as salt, sweat, seawater and so on. In the presence of chloride ions, the corrosion is very fast, even more than ordinary low carbon steel. Therefore, there is a requirement for the use environment of the manhole cover, and it is necessary to wipe frequently to remove dust and keep it clean and dry. If the cast iron well cover has been contaminated, use 5%-10% hydrochloric acid for soaking, scrubbing and soaking. Repeat several times until the acidity and iron content of the soaking solution are basically the same
