JFE a blast furnace will be overhauled this month

In September JFE steel will overhaul a blast furnace at a Japanese steel mill, it will cause a certain impact on the yield of. JFE holding expects the production of the east Japan blast furnace to reduce production by about 3 million, or about 6% of the company ‘s monthly.

At the end of August, JFE steel used for exhaust gas and dust collection equipment problems, leading to JFE shut down a converter of the steel mills, iron blast furnace production appears surplus. Therefore, JFE decided to blast furnace maintenance, to properly reduce the hot metal output. It is understand than JFE initially intended to start another converter, but bucause of various problems, the plan was not implemented. Among them, JFE is still looking for reasons for problems with the converter.
